Cogenra Installation 2

Video: Following Up On The Cogenra Solar Project

Operating a sustainable business means that  a lot of the work is done behind the scenes to reduce our environmental footprint. We love when we get the opportunity to share a new sustainable improvement that people can actually see and this one just happens to look really cool.

At the end of 2011 we partnered with Cogenra Solar to install the largest rooftop solar-cogeneration system in the U.S. This 96-module hybrid solar array uses breakthrough technology that harnesses the sun’s energy and converts it into both solar electricity and solar hot water.

As part of our energy management strategy we’re extending our commitment to renewable energy and are currently installing two similar systems, one at our Alexander Valley Winery in Sonoma, and the second at our Monterey Winery.

The addition of these two systems will make Kendall-Jackson the largest user of solar cogeneration in the country. The three systems combined will conserve over 350 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year.
